Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has in his response to the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said that the APC would not rule beyond 2023.
He noted that the days of the ruling party are numbered, adding that Nigerians are tired of bad governance and maladministration.
Tinubu had after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa said that the APC would be in power beyond 2023.
Makinde however stated that the redemption of Nigeria has commenced from the South-West geopolitical zone.
“We need to show the entire country that we are ready to take power back at the centre. I was reading in the newspaper where a national leader of the APC said that the APC will be in power beyond 2023,” he said on Wednesday during the inauguration of the South-West PDP zonal executives.
“I want to say it is a big lie. Let them hear that from this South-West PDP Congress, the redemption of Nigeria has started,” he added at the event held at the Oyo Government House, Ibadan.
