APC Remains Party To Beat — El-Rufai’s Aide

Political Adviser to Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai of Kaduna State, Mr Ben Kure, has described APC as the political party to beat come 2023 due to its popularity and acceptance in the country.

He said the party was formed to rescue Nigerians from hardship and bad governance which they were subjected to by the previous administrations that governed the country.

According to him, APC acceptance among Nigerians can be seen through the registration and revalidation of its membership, noting that the party was oversubscribed. Ben Kure, who made the comment at the Kaduna Progressive Youth Roundtable meeting of Youth and Women Leaders, described Kaduna as the heart of politics in Nigeria.

7 Years After Abduction: We Want To See Our Daughters Before We Die – Chibok Parents

Parents of the yet to be released 112 girls kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School Chibok in Borno State said they want to see their missing daughters before they die.

Since the abduction of their daughters by the Boko Haram insurgents loyal to Abubakar Shekau, some of the parents have died of natural causes and others due to depression.

Those still alive said they were optimistic their daughters were alive and called on the federal government to rescue them. It is exactly seven years today (Wednesday) when Boko Haram terrorists stormed GGSS Chibok on April 14, 2014, forced 276 girls into a truck and moved towards the Sambisa Forest.

EFCC Arrests Okorocha

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested former Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State.

Daily Trust gathered that EFCC operatives arrested him in Abuja on Tuesday evening.

A source at EFCC headquarters confirmed that the former governor is currently being quizzed.

IPOB Threatens To Kill Members Of New Security Outfit Launched By Governors

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has warned Igbo youths against joining the recently formed security outfit called EBUBEAGU.

On Sunday, South Eastern governors announced the establishment of EBUBEAGU to assist in tackling the rising insecurity in the region.

IPOB had already formed the Eastern Security Network which has been having repeated clashes with the military and the Police. In a statement on Tuesday, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary (IPOB), Emma Powerful, warned that “any person that joins EBUBEAGU to spy Eastern Security Network should be prepared to join his ancestors”.

PDP Set To Reconcile Tambuwal, Kwankwaso, Others

Necessary machinery has been put in place to reconcile Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, former governor of Kano State Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and a former minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali, over issues revolving around the PDP North-West zonal congress, Daily Trust gathered.

At the Kaduna Trade Fair Complex on Saturday, the supporters of Tambuwal and Kwankwaso clashed during the North-West zonal congress of the party, leading to an abrupt postponement of the exercise.

The dispute, Daily Trust gathered from party sources, was over the position of zonal vice chairman which was zoned to Kano State. Two factions exist in Kano PDP; the Wali and Kwankwaso factions. The Kwankwaso faction has an upper hand over the Wali camp in terms of control of party structures in the state.
