Nigeria is at a critical stage, Lagos and Kano have critical roles to play in uniting Nigeria – Tinubu

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje leads the National Leader of APC, Sen. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to Kano Emirs Palace for a courtesy visit to Emir Aminu Bayero

The National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday in Kano said that Lagos and Kano have critical roles to play in leading the peace and unity of Nigeria.

Tinubu stated this when he visited the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, at the Kano Emirate Council.

“Nigeria is at a critical stage of its life and the only thing that would make it survive is unity and understanding. Lagos and Kano, which have gone through these over times, must show the way.

“Peace and development could be eluded if the nation continues the way it is going. Fundamentally, unity and tranquillity must be the hope that we can ride on.

“One could see that today, I, Bola Tinubu, is sitting side by side with Governor (Abdullahi) Ganduje and this is a clear testimony that people, regardless of their tribe and religion, could come together and make a change.

“Use us as a symbol and make a different that Lagos and Kano have been making together all these while.”

Speaking earlier, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who led Tinubu to the Emir’s palace said that the APC leader was in Kano to foster national cohesion and to attend the 12th colloquium organised for his birthday.

In his remarks, the Kano Emir commended Tinubu for choosing Kano to celebrate his 65th birthday, saying that it shows unity and love he had for Nigeria.

He further noted that traditional leaders were ready to give all the necessary support Nigeria required for unity and understanding among tribes and religions.
