Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination has said ethnic nationalities in the Middle Belt and southern Nigeria have begun the process of orderly transition to full self-determination and sovereignty.

The NINAS, which is the umbrella body for ethnic nationalities from the Middle Belt, South-East, South-South and South-West, said those who were bent on governing Nigerian by all means and those jostling to contest political offices in 2023 elections were the set of people pushing the country into a violent disintegration.

The Chairman of the NINAS, Prof. Banji Akintoye, and the Secretary, Mr Tony Enadi, read an address of the group at a press conference in Ibadan on Wednesday on behalf of all members of the group, who joined the press conference online. “Those who insist on Governing Nigeria with the imposed, fraudulent and unworkable 1999 Constitution, as well as those who still aspire to contest further national elections under that Constitution, should know they are the ones pushing Nigeria towards a violent disintegration.

PDP election review panel proposes N’East, S’East for 2023 presidency

THE Governor Bala Mohammed-led Peoples Democratic Party Committee on the Review of the 2019 General Elections, has recommended that the party should throw open the contest for its 2023 Presidential ticket. This was part of recommendations made by the committee in its report submitted to the party leadership in Abuja, on Wednesday.

Chairman of the committee, Governor Bala Mohammed, while presenting the report said, “In line with certain unwritten conventions of the nation’s history, many people think that for fairness and equity, the North-East and South-East geo-political zones that have had the shortest stints at the Presidency should be given special consideration in choosing the presidential flag bearer of the party for the 2023 elections.

“While we admit that this is a strong argument, we should not lose sight of the fact that Nigeria is endowed with many capable and very experienced leaders in every part of the country.
