Bandits Storm Primary School In Kaduna, Abduct Teachers, Pupils
Bandits have abducted students and teachers from UBE Primary School in Rama, a village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Abdulsalam Adam, a resident, said the gunmen came on about 12 motorcycles. “I have been told that three teachers and some pupils have been abducted but we are trying to ascertain the true situation. Right now, our vigilante boys and other volunteers have gone after the bandits,” he said.
“We are in the school right now, what we are trying to do is comb the bushes because some of the children ran into the bush. So, we don’t know how many were abducted at the moment,” he added.
Biafra Govt A Theatre Of The Absurd — FG
The Federal Government has described the reported formation of Biafra Customary Government by Asari Dokubo as a “theatre of the absurd by a joker seeking attention’’.
Speaking with News Agency of Nigeria on the development in Lagos on Monday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration will not be distracted by the absurdity.
“I am sure you have heard of the theatre of the absurd, that is the best way I can describe it. If Asari Dokubo wants to form and run a fathom government, I think he is free to do so. This administration will not be distracted because we still have a lot to do. We are not ready to give any attention or time to a joker like Dokubo who is just looking for attention. We will just take it as one of these entertainment thing. The beauty about Nigeria is that it is never a dull country, you must have one thing or the other to entertain you,’’ he said.
2023: Edo PDP Demands Zoning Of Presidency To South-South
The Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the party to zone its presidential ticket to the South-South geopolitical zone.
The party’s state chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, who made the call yesterday while addressing journalists as part of activities marking his one year in office, said the zone has eminently qualified people for the position.
Aziegbemi said the zone was short-changed in 2015 when President Goodluck Jonathan was stopped from being elected for a second term in office.
FG To Reopen Kano Airport April 5
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, yesterday said the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport would be reopened for international flights on April 5, 2021.
He disclosed this in Abuja at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
He also said the Port Harcourt and Enugu airports would be reopened for international flights on April 15, 2021 and May 3, 2021 respectively.
