Compel herdsmen’s leaders to produce farmers’ killers, PDP tells Fayemi
Following the killing by suspected Fulani herdsmen of two farmers; Mr Toyin Akeju, also known locally as Jisoro, and Mr Yusuf Onuche, the Peoples Democratic Party has called on Governor Kayode Fayemi to compel leaders of herders in the state to fish out the farmers’ killers. The farmers were killed in Isaba Ekiti in the Ikole council area of Ekiti State.
The state PDP on Sunday decried the incessant killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the state and challenged the governor to stop playing politics, but take decisive steps to end the mindless killings.
The opposition party, in a statement by its state Publicity Secretary, Raphael Adeyanju, titled, ‘Stop playing politics with lives of Ekiti people, be proactive against herdsmen, PDP tells Fayemi’, said, “The governor must stop shedding crocodile tears and acting political correctness on the killings in the state. It is important that leaders of Fulani herders in the state are summoned by the government and handed a marching order to produce killers of those persons in Isaba Ekiti because they cannot claim not to know the killers among their people.

Oshiomhole wanted to transform to godfather, derail our plans – Shaibu
The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, on Sunday said he was brutalised in a bid to end godfatherism and ensure that the then governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole, successfully completed his two terms in office.
Shaibu, who disclosed this in his remarks at the reception for the outgone local government chairmen, said he was always loyal to a worthy course.
“People say I am loyal to Obaseki, but I will say I am loyal to a course. I was brutalised and injured and had my knees replaced under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s administration because some godfathers wanted to derail our plans of making poverty history. We fought on the side of the people and the beneficiary of that struggle was Oshiomhole. In this new fight, he (Oshiomhole) has now become the godfather who is trying to derail our plans and I fought on the side of Governor Godwin Obaseki in making poverty history in Edo.
