I commit the rest of my life to the service of God because He saved me from the devils in prison – Metuh

Chief Olisa Metuh, a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Chief Olisa Metuh, a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was recently released from prison, has described his imprisonment as horrific.

He noted that his ten months at the Kuje Correctional Centre was the lowest point in his life.

“I have been to the lowest, deepest end of the valley. I have wrestled with the demons. I wrestled with the devils,” Metuh stated while addressing supporters at the PDP Secretariat in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

“The Almighty God has saved me. For that, I commit the rest of my life to the service of God and the people,” he added.

Metuh was sentenced to seven years in jail over alleged financial crimes by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja, but was however later freed by the orders of the Court of Appeal.

The High Court found Metuh guilty of illegally receiving N400million from the Office of the National Security Adviser, under the leadership of Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

However, the Justice Stephen Adah led three-man panel of the Appeal Court nullified his sentence on the grounds that the High Court judge, Justice Abang, was biased in his trial and ruling.
