Gunmen with RPG, AK47, abducts Niger students

On Sunday night, the Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, said that the students and teachers abducted at the Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State, have not yet been released.

There were reports (not on NaijaBuzz.News) that the authorities paid N800million to secure their release.

However, at a press conference in Minna, the capital of Niger State, the governor noted that efforts were still being made to rescue them unhurt.

“We still have the students of Kagara in the hands of the bandits and everything is being done to secure their release soonest,” the governor said.

We reported that 27 students, 12 staff and their relatives were abducted by the bandits last week. One of the students who tried to escape during the operation was killed.
