Afenifere, PANDEF tackle NEF over alleged northerners’ killings

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, Afenifere and the Middle Belt Forum have berated the Northern Elders’ Forum for alleging that northerners were being attacked in the South.

They described as false, allegations by NEF and Kano Elders’ Forum.

According to them, on the contrary, it is Fulani herdsmen that are kidnapping, killing and raping host communities without any action by the Buhari regime.

Sheik Gumi visits Zamfara bandit in forests, appeals for peace

A renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dr Aimed Abubakar Mahmoud Gumi, on Tuesday visited some bandits in the forests of Shinkafi and Gummi local government areas of Zamfara State.

It was gathered that Gumi’s visit to the camps was to spread the message of Islam and peace to the Fulani herdsmen and rid the country of kidnappings and banditry.

Gummi and his entourage were said to have first gone to the forest of Tubali and Makkai in Shinkafi LGA which were under the control of armed Fulani herdsmen.

APC dismisses alleged plan to field Jonathan in 2023

The All Progressives Congress has denied speculations that it was wooing former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2023 Presidential Election on its platform.

There were media reporters last week that a group of Northern Governors were working towards making Jonatan contest the elections to serve a single term of four years after which power will return to the north.

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, who is also the Interim National Chairman of the APC, denied the report in an interview with the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation monitored in Kaduna on Wednesday.

IPOB tackles Facebook for blocking Nnamdi Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra has decried the blocking of the Facebook account of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Wednesday, the group described the action as despicable and petty.

While accusing the Federal Government of having a hand in the conspiracy, IPOB described Facebook as an accomplice of mass murder.

You are last Anambra APGA gov, PDP tells Obiano

The People’s Democratic Party has asked the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano to prepare to hand over to its candidate in 2022.

The PDP state Publicity Secretary, Nnamdi Nwangwu said this in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Wednesday.

Obiano, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance will serve out his second tenure in office on March 17, 2022. APGA has been in power in the state since 2006.
