Army deploys 300 female soldiers to tackle insecurity along Kaduna-Abuja highway

Female soldiers deployed to Kaduna-Abuja highway

The Nigerian Army has deployed about 300 female soldiers under the Nigerian Army Women Corps to tackle banditry, kidnapping and other related crimes along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

100 of the 300 soldiers visited the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, on Wednesday.

Governor El-Rufai who received them expressed hope that the female soldiers would tackle the insecurity along the highway, saying that what a man can do, a woman can do better.

“The problem of Abuja-Kaduna road will be over with these female soldiers because what a man can do a woman can do better.

“I am confident the road will be the safest in Nigeria. We will do everything possible to make this operation comfortable. We are very happy to have you. Your presence will inspire others girls to join the military. That is why we have female deputy governor to inspire other women,” the Governor said.
