EndSARS: I’ve not seen my husband 8 yrs after arrest, woman cries out

A middle-aged woman, Mrs Rita Okungbowa, yesterday, told the Edo State Judicial Panel of Inquiry for victims of SARS and related abuses that she has not seen her husband for the past eight years after he was arrested by men of the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.

She told the panel that her husband, a Benin movie director, Prince Osayande Okungbowa, was tagged a kidnapper and was taken away by men of SARS and that every effort to know where he was incarcerated has proven abortive.

Mrs Okungbowa told the panel that having waited till date, she was left with no option than to conclude that he might have been killed by SARS operatives.

Kwara Director found dead in his office

There was confusion, Monday morning in the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development along Jebba Road, Ilorin when a Director, one Dr Khalid Ibrahim Ndaman, was suddenly found dead in his office.

Vanguard reliably gathered that Dr Ndaman who until his death was a Director of Veterinary in the ministry was sighted coming to office in the morning hale and hearty.

Further checks revealed that it was when one of the staff went to meet him about an hour after his arrival, to discuss a pending official matter with him, that he met him dead.

Ohanaeze/2023 Presidency: Obiozor’s election linked to everything Ndigbo — Gov Ikpeazu

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has said that the emergence of Professor George Obiozor as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo was linked to everything Ndigbo.

Governor Ikpeazu specifically said that Obiozor’s election was linked to Ndigbo’s survival politically, economically and to “the future of our children”.

The governor said this on Channels TV Politics Today, on Monday, adding that “Obiozor has the capacity to interpret the vision of Ndigbo against the backdrop of our interests in Nigeria’s polity.”

FG’ll stop train services if… — Amaechi

The Federal Government says it will shut down the Lagos-Ibadan and the Abuja-Kaduna train services should there be any case of COVID-19 among passengers.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, stated this yesterday while featuring on NTA Good Morning Nigeria programme.

He said train users must comply with all COVID-19 protocols from the beginning of every trip to the end.

COVID-19: Virus is spreading fast with mild symptoms, NCDC alerts Nigerians

The Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has warned that the Coronavirus pandemic is spreading fast, causing mild symptoms in some victims and severe illnesses and death in others.

Ihekweazu disclosed this on Monday in Abuja at the joint national briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.

He said that many victims have continued to experience fatigue and other symptoms even after recovery. According to him, in the last four weeks, the country has recorded a spike in the number of new COVID-19 cases.
