Bandits Are Out-Of-Control Fulanis ― Governor Bello

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has bemoaned the increasing activities of bandits in his state who he said are Fulanis who cannot be controlled by anyone including their parents.

The governor, who met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja on Wednesday to seek more federal government’s intervention to deal with the menace, also revealed to correspondents that the bandits have started to infiltrate the state through the Republic of Benin borders.

He said many of the criminals are being recruited from within and outside the country through social media. The governor lamented that the bandits are now threatening the state grazing reserve where a lot of investment had already been made. According to him, some traditional rulers and natives have been discovered to invite the bandits into their communities.

Kukah Message Targeted At Islam ― JNI

The Jama’atul Nasirul Islam (JNI) has said the Christmas message of Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah was targeted at Islam and Muslims.

In a statement issued by the Secretary-General of JNI, Khalid Abubakar, on Wednesday, said the message was disguised to deceive the innocent.

The statement noted that the message was a poisoned arrow fired at the heart of Islam and Muslims in Nigeria.

Nigeria Records 1,664 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now 94,369

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 1,664 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 94,369.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Kogi Gov Donates N6m To Late APC Women Leader’s Family

The Kogi State Government has donated the sum of N6 million naira to the family of the late Divisional Women leader for Kogi East, late Mrs Mariam Egbunu. The state government also promised to provide employment to any of the children who have the education prerequisite. Late Mariam Egbunu was a strong APC member in the Dekina zone.

The Secretary to the state government, Mrs Ayoade Folashade, made the presentation on behalf of the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello during an official visit of the government to the family at their country home in Ajaegbe Abocho, Dekina council area of the state.

The SSG said the donation followed the ratification from the executive council of the state to empowered the late women leader family; for her contribution to the All Progressive Congress, APC and the state She said the state government recognised the late APC women leader’s contributions to the state in general and the party in particular.

Ex-President Jonathan Hails Oyakhilome For Transforming Humanity Through FALA

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has stated that the African Future Leaders Award (FALA) organized by the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation of the Loveworld Incorporated, is a transformation of humanity to greatness in the continent of Africa.

The former President in his keynote speech at the Future Africa Leaders Awards 2020 in Lagos, Nigeria, at the weekend, acknowledged the great and budding minds that were beneficiaries of the 2020 edition of the Future Africa Leaders Award organized courtesy of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation.

Jonathan commended Rev. Dr Chris Oyakhilome, President of Loveworld Incorporated, the Christ Embassy Ministry and his entire team for their efforts in bringing the event to fruition in the African continent.
