Buhari Mourns As Ex-NTA DG’s Son Stabbed To Death

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with veteran broadcaster, Mohammed Ibrahim, over the death of his son, Aminu Mohammed.

President Buhari, in a message to the former Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) at different times, told Mohammed Ibrahim, who is the Makaman Ringim, that he was “pained by the sudden demise of his son.” Aminu was reportedly stabbed to death by thieves, that snatch phones in Kaduna, was buried on Thursday morning.

“My thoughts are with you and the family during this hour of grief. May Allah give you the fortitude to bear the loss,” the President said in a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu.

Lekki Shooting: Presidency Rejects Amnesty International’s Report

The Presidency on Thursday rejected the reports of Amnesty International (AI) on the #EndSARS protests and the ensuing crisis, describing it as “misleading and inaccurate”.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, spoke on the Channels Television daily programme ‘Sunrise Daily’.

Adesina said the notion that the incident at the Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, fuelled the crisis was a misleading narrative.

APC Crisis: Why Tenure Of Buni-Led C’ttee Should Be Extended – Sen Na’Allah

Aranking senator, Bala Ibn Na’Allah (APC, Kebbi South), has advocated for the extension of the tenure of the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to address the crisis rocking the ruling party.

Na’Allah, a Board of Trustees (BoT) member of the APC, stated this in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust, saying the extension will avail the committee the opportunity to carefully address the challenges facing the party to ensure its survival.

The call for the extension is coming one month to the expiration of the six-month tenure of the committee. Already, there is tension in the party over a suspected plot to extend the committee’s tenure.

I’m Not In Govt To Make Money – Obaseki

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has said he is not in government to be famous or make money at the expense of the development of the state.

He noted that it is time for politicians to prioritise the affairs of governance to benefit the people, adding that political leaders must remain selfless for Nigeria to attain its full potential.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City, Obaseki stressed the need for putting the mechanism in place to ensure transparency in government.
