Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State is in early lead in the Governorship Election held in the state on Saturday.
According to reports, Akeredolu is currently leading with over 27,000 votes from results declared so far.
Results from 12 out of 18 local government areas have been so far announced, and Akeredolu who is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is leading with 168,854 votes, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede, is behind the governor with 141,083 votes, (as seen on to Daily Trust).
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, who is the candidate of Zenith Labour Party, is third with 32,060 votes.
The incumbent governor who is from Ondo North Senatorial District is leading in most of the polling units and LGAs in the district. The LGAs in the District are; Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-West, Akoko South-East, Owo and Ose.
The PDP candidate, Jegede, who is from Ondo Central is leading in most of the LGAs in the District. LGAs in the Districts are; Akure South, Akure North, Ifedore, Idanre, Ondo West and Ondo East.
Deputy Governor Ajayi who is from Ondo South Senatorial District won in some polling units and LGAs. LGAs in Ondo South are; Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo, Odigbo, Okitipupa, Irele, Ilaje and Ese Odo.
