As domestic flights resume on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, airlines have significantly increased airfares due to the negative effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Domestic and international flights was banned in March by the Federal Government following the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic.
Allen Onyema, the CEO of Air Peace, had few weeks ago urged the Federal Government to bailout the airline industry to help reduce the cost of flying post-COVID-19.
According to Punch, fares for flights from Lagos to Abuja costs between 30,000 to over 120,000 depending on the class of ticket.
For Dana Air, Economy Discount sold for N33,000, Economy Flexible for N70,500.
Air Peace Economy sold for N33,001, Business class sold for N80,000.
Azman Economy sold for N33,000, Business class sold for N60,000.
Arik Air Economy sold for N29,189 and Business class sold for N71,532. Another business class N4pm flight sold for N126,199.
