Oshiomhole-backed NWC dares Buhari, says NEC meeting illegal
Eighteen members of the All Progressives Congress National Working Committee loyal to the party’s sacked National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday, insisted that the APC National Executive Committee meeting attended by the President Muhammadu Buhari was illegal.
The NWC members, who said this in a statement signed by the acting National Chairman, Hillard Eta, and the acting National Secretary, Waziri Bulama, stated that they were consulting their lawyers and other stakeholders on the dissolution of the NWC and other decisions taken at the NEC meeting on Thursday.
A few hours after the NWC was dissolved at the instance of Buhari, the 18 members dared the President and others at the NEC meeting by issuing a statement where they referred to themselves as officials of the party.
We’re not ready to reopen orientation camps –NYSC
The National Youth Service Corps has said it will not reopen orientation camps across te country until it is safe to do so.
The NYSC, in a statement on Thursday by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, any report that it was planning to open the camps was false
“To put issues in proper perspective, it is appropriate to state that the National Youth Service Corps will only return to the orientation camps when it is very safe to do so, in view of the danger posed by COVID – 19 pandemic,” she said.
Obaseki returned unopposed, faces Eze-Iyamu in Sept poll
Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, of the Peoples Democratic Party will face his major contender from the All Progressives Congress, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the September 19 governorship election in the state.
This follows the withdrawal of all the three governorship aspirants of the PDP, which paved the way for the emergence of Obaseki.
Obaseki became the lone aspirant for the race after ratification by party delegates following the withdrawal of his main rival, Kenneth Imansuagbon.
Hushpuppi defrauded 1,926,400 persons, made N168bn – Dubai police
The Dubai Police Force, United Arab Emirates, has revealed how it arrested Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi.
The DPF revealed that upon the arrest of Hushpuppi and 12 other members of his crew, including Olalekan Ponle, aka Woodberry, they discovered that fraud amounting to 1.6 billion dirham (N168bn) had been perpetrated by the gang.
No fewer than 1,926,400 persons from different parts of the world were also said to have fallen victim to the suspects.
Ajimobi loses COVID-19 battle at 70, Buhari, others mourn
A former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, is dead.
Ajimobi who was on a life support before giving up the ghost on Thursday died at age 70.
