Ondo Deputy Governor dumps APC; refuses to leave office

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, who dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, has refused to step down.

Ajayi who is the deputy of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu resigned his membership at Ward 2, Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He noted that he would not resign his position, adding that his people who voted for him has not recalled him.

“My people that voted for me did not ask me to resign, so I remain the deputy governor of this state. I was duly elected as a deputy governor,” the deputy governor said.

While submitting his resignation letter the Ondo Deputy Governor said that everybody knows why he is leaving the APC.

“The reason I am taking this action is known to all of you. I listen to the advice from all supporters across the state.  The Ese Odo Local Government will continue to witness peace and progress,” he said.

The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami, had earlier before Ajayi submitted his resignation letter tried to stop him (Ajayi) from going out of the Government House.
