You’ve betrayed Almajirai, PDP tells Buhari, APC

The Peoples Democratic Party has accused President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress of betraying Almajirai and Nigeria’s poor and vulnerable after using them to grab power in 2015.

The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbodiyan, noted that the APC and its administration had continued to show their true colours especially as manifested in the neglect and dehumanising treatment they had meted out to poor and vulnerable Nigerians since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Court orders forfeiture of ex-presidential fleet commander’s N510m

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, granted an order of interim forfeiture of N510m allegedly owned by a former Commander, Presidential Air Fleet, Air Vice Marshall Uko Ebong.

Ebong served as the commander of PAF between 2013 and July 2015 under the administration of Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed granted the interim forfeiture order of the fund linked to Ebong in a ruling on an ex-parte application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

COVID-19 will worsen Nigeria’s debt, says NESG

With declining revenue, Nigeria’s debt position will be worsened as the government is set to embark on massive borrowing of over N4.43tn, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group has said.

“Nigeria’s total public debt, which stood at N27.4tn as of December 2019, is expected to increase to over N30tn in 2020. Debt servicing as a share of revenue will also increase significantly,” NESG said on Monday in its Macroeconomic Outlook Update.

Osinbajo now chairs our group, Association of Short People –El-Rufai

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Monday said Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is the current chairman of a group he called the Nigerian Association of Short People.

The diminutive governor said with the equally short Osinbajo holding the position of the Vice President, “we are represented at the highest echelons of governance.”

El-Rufai posted the message on his Twitter handle, @elrufai, while reacting to a video of an interview he granted a comedian popularly called Teju Babyface in 2010.

Buhari, ministers to hold first virtual FEC meeting Wednesday

The nation’s highest decision-making body, the Federal Executive Council, may reconvene on Wednesday after weeks of indefinite adjournment due to COVID-19.

This is the first time FEC meeting will be virtual.

While most of the members will be attending from their offices, only a few aides will join the President Muhammadu Buhari who is expected to preside from either the Council Chambers or his office.
