COVID-19: Senate shut down for 2 weeks

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has shut down for two weeks over the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic in Nigeria.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan had earlier today at a closed-door session announced the closure of the upper chamber as a precautionary measure against the deadly disease.

The Senate had last week shut down its facilities and suspended all public hearing at the National Assembly over the pandemic.

The Senate is expected to resume on April 7th, 2020.
