Invest in Sokoto, Tambuwal Calls on Local Investors

The Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has solicited the support of local investors to invest in the state and help in bolstering its economy and that of the nation at large.

The governor made the plea Tuesday while receiving Northern States Coalition of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (NOSCCIMA), led by its President, Abubakar Jinjiri Abubakar, at the Government House, Sokoto.

Covid 19: NYSC Suspends 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1, Orientation Course

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has suspended the ongoing orientation course for the 2020 Batch “A” Stream 1 corps members.

According to a press release on Wednesday morning and signed by the Director, Press and Public Relation, Mr. Adenike Adeyemi, the management of the NYSC said: “Sequel to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the cancellation of the National Sports Festival, management of the National Youth Service Corps scheme wishes to announce the suspension of the ongoing Orientation course for the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members.

Edo APC Hails Appeal Court Decision on Oshiomhole

Members of a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State have stated that the last Monday Court of Appeal ruling that quashed the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the party would linger in their memories “as a day of victory for justice, party supremacy and internal mechanism of conflict resolution, due process, light transcending darkness, rule of law, and for upholding constitutionalism.”

“It is also a moment of sober reflection for us in the state APC, as we remember the unwholesome role played by the state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, in the failed attempt to remove our National Chairman, Oshiomhole, who is his benefactor,” former Deputy Governor of the state to Oshiomhole, Dr. Pius Odubu, said while addressing journalists in Benin-city.

Recording COVID-19’s Third Case, FG Bans Foreign Travels by Public Officials

With the confirmation of the third case of COVID-19 in Nigeria after a 30-year-old female tested positive to the virus, the federal government yesterday took additional measures to check the spread of the pandemic, banning foreign travels by public officials and suspended the National Sports Festival slated for March 22 in Benin, Edo State.

The federal government’s ban on foreign travels would affect all public and civil servants in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and other government parastatals.

Atiku Seeks Decisive Economic Action to Protect Nigerians

A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has once again called on the federal government to take a decisive step towards protecting the country from the ravaging COVID-19.

“As the landing cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, has reduced significantly, it is strongly recommended that the government should not absorb the savings, but should pass it on to the Nigerian people by way of reducing the pump price of PMS to reflect the current prevailing market costs,” Atiku said.
