Health workers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) may call off the industrial action they embarked on by Thursday, March 19, 2020.

This followed a successful intervention of the House of Representatives during a meeting with the representatives of the striking health workers and the management of the FCT on Tuesday.

Coronavirus: NYSC Shuts Down Orientation Camps

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday shut down all its camps and suspended ongoing orientation course for its corps members nationwide.

COVID-19: Senate Considers Review Of 2020 Budget

The Senate has said a review of the 2020 budget for practicable implementation due to “difficulties in the funding the 2020 Appropriation Act as passed by the National Assembly” has become inevitable.

The Senate had in its plenary of Tuesday, March 10, charged the committees to look into the current economic realities and report back to the Senate on a weekly basis or when the need arises, by interfacing with the relevant stakeholders in the Executive and business community with the intention of bringing out suggestions, solutions and way  out of the present economic realities.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that his administration would take necessary measures to isolate Nigerians from the consequences of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on the economy.

He said the country had foreseen the economic problems that may come in the wake of the pandemic, “and will explore all alternatives to protect her people.”

The President spoke Tuesday at State House, Abuja, during a briefing session by the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) led by Professor Doyin Salami.

On Tuesday that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has yielded grounds to some of the individuals pushing for his removal.

The former Edo State governor announced to newsmen shortly after the meeting of the National Working Committee that the suspension order on Senator Lawan Shuaibu and Aminu Abdulkadir, deputy national chairman, North and the National vice chairman, North-West, respectively.

He said it was in the spirit of the reconciliation drive to accommodate all members of the party.
