MASSOB issues 48-hour ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen in Enugu community after attacking an Igbo farmer

Fulani Herdsman

The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen to quit Ogboli-Ohaja community in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The ultimatum came following an alleged attack by the herdsmen on a young man identified as Kenneth Ude on his farm.

The 32 year-old farmer was said to be working on his cassava farm when herdsmen came grazing his farm with their cattle.

He confronted them and they attacked him with their machetes.

Ude was later rushed to the hospital (the Jideofor Medical Hospital in Awgu).

MASSOB in its reaction to the unfortunate incident noted that it would no longer tolerate the killing of innocent people by herdsmen in the region.

Chief Ikechukwu Ekwe, the Deputy National Leader of MASSOB, said; “We will fish them out wherever they may be in this community after 48 hours and handle them our own way. No more will we allow our people to be subjected to this level of maltreatment in their own soil. I do not think it is a crime for one to go to his farm.”
