Suicide bomber apprehended in Kaduna Living Faith Church

A suicide bomber was apprehended on Sunday at the Living Faith Church located at Sabon Tasha are of Kaduna State.

The suicide bomber who identified himself as Nathaniel Samuel was apprehended by the church’s security officials after the Close Circuit Camera in the church exposed him.

The incident has been widely condemned.

Rev. Joseph Hayab, the Kaduna Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), described the attempted suicide bombing of worshipers as unacceptable, adding that the failure of what would have been very disastrous shows the effectiveness of the 3-day fast and prayer by CAN in the state.

According to the church Chief Security Officer, Ekpeyong Edet, the bomber had already entered the church before the security approached him. After searching his bag, an explosive device was found in his possession.

He was eventually handed over to the police at the Sabon Police Station.

Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Police Command in a statement through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, said the suicide bomber; “was arrested in possession of some suspected Improvised Explosive Devices in his bag.  He is currently being interrogated at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department while efforts are on to apprehend his accomplices.”
