Edo State Commissioner arrested by INTERPOL in France over $2million laundering

Governor Godwin Obaseki

Report has it that Osaze Osemwingie-Ero, the Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, was arrested by INTERPOL in France for laundering $2million.

According to report, the commissioner was arrested and detained in November while in possession of $2million.

Although not yet confirmed by Naija Buzz News, report has it that he was being detained over what happened 7 years ago. But the Government of Edo State has since denied link with his arrest, saying that it has nothing to do with Governor Godwin Obaseki.

“We learnt about the alleged arrest of the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Commissioner, Osaze Osemwingie-Ero, from unreliable sources on social media and we are unable to confirm either the alleged arrest or what might have led to it,” Crusoe Osagie, Governor Obaseki’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, stated.

“But we can confirm without equivocation that whatever the issues might be, they are totally personal and have nothing whatsoever to do with the Edo State Government or Governor Godwin Obaseki,” he added.
