APC using Ex-President Jonathan to legitimise their electoral fraud – Governor Dickson

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State in his first public statement following the defeat of his party by the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the last Saturday governorship election accused the APC of using the image of Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan to legitimise fraud.

According to Dickson, the APC are deliberately using Goodluck to legitimise the electoral fraud it committed during the election.

The governor who spoke in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa, noted that the visit by some APC leaders with David Lyon, the governor-elect, to Jonathan was a strategy designed to takeover the state by force.

He noted that Jonathan never contributed to their manipulation of the electoral process by the APC.

“That’s why they had to be taking David Lyon to him (referring to Ex-President Jonathan). They had to be talking about him; they had to visit him and appear to be celebrating a victory never earned.

“Like Pontius Pilate, they are preparing the window by which they will wash their hands strategically, and put it at his (Ex-President Jonathan) doorstep; that he endorsed, sanctioned and legitimised it. That’s the game they are playing,” he added.

He further called on the supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to show restraint and not resort to violence as the judiciary will deliver justice.
