Some aides of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, have denied been sacked by the presidency.
A list of Osinbajo’s aides who were purportedly sacked by the presidency circulated on the media on Thursday. Among those allegedly sacked included the grandson of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and the daughter of Ex-Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, on Thursday released a statement on twitter denying the lists.
“A list circulating in the media on the so-called sacked presidential aides is not genuine and ought to be ignored,” Akande said.
Tola Asekun, the Senior Special Assistant on National Boundary Commission, told Punch that the report of their sacking was fake news. He said “don’t believe all those things.”
Ifeoluwa Adedayo, the Special Assistant to Osinbajo on Innovation, whose name was on the list of sacked aides, vehemently denied been sacked, saying that he did not receive any sack letter.
Adedayo noted that he resumed work despite reports in the media claiming they were sacked.
