Recently impeached Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Simon Achuba, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the lawlessness in Kogi State under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Achuba following his impeachment by the Kogi House of Assembly noted that he is approaching the court to seek the nullification of his impeachment.
He noted that his impeachment was unconstitutional and illegal which will not stand.
“I got home last Friday to see some policemen manning the gate, while my security details had been withdrawn. The Commissioner of Police told me on the telephone that the men were there to protect me and prevent looting of government property,” Achuba said in a press conference in Lokoja shortly after he moved out of his official residence.
“But the policemen prevented me from going out of the house and no visitor was allowed in while my phone battery went down due to numerous calls coming from my loved ones who wanted to know what was going on,” he added.
“I which to draw the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari and well-meaning Nigerians to the lawlessness going in Kogi State and sound a note of warning that they may be breeding another Boko Haram.”
