We have attained food sufficiency, food prices will crash soon – FG

Dr. Maimuna Habib, the Director Projects Coordinating Unit at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, alleges that Nigeria has attained food sufficiency.

“We have attained food sufficiency; all we need to do is to blow our trumpet because no foreigner will tell anybody what is happening in the country,” she said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.

Her statement came despite the alarming increase in the price of food items in the market lately. Read more

Labour, FG adjourned meeting again

The meeting between Labour and the Federal Government that started on Wednesday from 5pm on Wednesday to 2am on Thursday, and continued today (Thursday) 7am, has been adjourned again following failure to reach an agreement.

Labour had threatened to go on strike over failure to implement the new N30,000 minimum wage.

N169.88billion budgeted for road construction and rehabilitation in 2020

The Federal Government will spend N169.88billion on the construction and rehabilitation of roads in 6 geopolitical zone of the country in 2020.

The figure which is contained in the 2020 Budget is less than the N280.44billion budgeted for same purpose in 2019.

President Muhammadu Buhari had noted that the Federal Government in 2020 will not start any new road project, but however concentrate its efforts to complete the ongoing ones.

Dino Melaye never won any election in his political career – Smart

Smart Adeyemi, the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election, alleges that Senator Dino Melaye has never won any election in his political career.

According to Smart, Melaye only manipulate his way into office using political thuggery and rigging.

Melaye who is the candidate of the PDP however in his response said that Mr. Smart is already an expired product in Kogi West, adding that Smart’s time as a senator was a curse rather than blessing to the senatorial district.

Hackers stole N752million from United Bank for Africa (UBA)

Ojo Oladimeji, an auditor with the United Bank for Africa, alleges that N752million belonging to Flour Mills Nigeria Limited was stolen through 20 different bank accounts between June 24 and July 3, 2019.

Oladimeji stated this while narrating to the Federal High Court in Lagos how the bank’s server was hacked in the case against an alleged internet fraudster.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Ola Lawal (aka Lawal Roland) for allegedly hacking into the server of UBA.  He is standing trial alongside his company, DCAN Oil and Gas Limited.
