South-East governors to meet Buhari over closure of Enugu airport

The Governors in the South-East has resolved to meet President Muhammadu Buhari over the closure of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

The leaders in the region expressed fear that the project of rehabilitating the airport might be abandoned.

Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation, had revealed that N10billion was needed to fix the runway and other things at the airport.

“We have  resolved to meet with  the President for the welfare of our people in South-East,” Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State who is the Chairman of the SE Gov. Forum, said after a meeting with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other stakeholders in the region.
