Nigerian Army shuts down another NGO in North-East

The Nigerian Army on Wednesday shutdown the offices of a non-governmental organization, Mercy Corps, in the North-East region.

The military alleges that the NGO was aiding the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group in the region.

This is coming few days after shutting down the offices of the Action Against Hunger in the region.

Report has it that the army’s decision to shut down the office of the NGO came after a driver of Mercy Corps conveying smoked fish was found with N20million.

Following the discovery, the military ordered to shut down of the NGO’s offices in Borno, and Yobe states.
