It’s an insult to say N5.5billion is too much to buy vehicles for senators – Senate Leader

The Leader of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Yahaya Abdullahi, has condemned public outcry over the planned purchase of Sport Utility Vehicles with N5.5billion for senators.

“What is the problem there? It is an insult to say that a senator of the Federal Republic cannot ride a jeep in Nigeria. It is an insult,” he said.

315 Nigerians arrives Lagos from South Africa

The second batch of 315 Nigerians finally arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos around 7:20pm on Wednesday.

There was a delay due to issuance of landing permit to the Air Peace aircraft by the South African authority.

Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, had on Wednesday told lawmakers that the SA authority was trying to frustrate the evacuation of Nigerians from their country.

House of Rep. want Buhari to honour Air Peace chairman

The National House of Representatives has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to honour Chief Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, over his patriotic role in the evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa.

The lawmakers held a session in honour of Mr. Onyema for the free air services he offered stranded Nigerians in SA xenophobic attack.

The House passed a resolution asking Buhari to give Onyema a national award. The lawmakers also noted that Air Peace would always be given first priority when flying to any part of Nigeria.

Buhari removes Oyo-Ita, replaces her with Yemi-Esan

President Muhammadu Buhari has removed Winifred Oyo-Ita as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and replaced her with Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan.

Oyo-Ita was accused of N3billion bribery and falsification of duty tour allowance.

She was directed to proceed on an indefinite leave pending the conclusion of the investigation against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Presidential cabal allegedly targeting Osinbajo over his decisions as Acting President

The cabal at the presidency is allegedly not happy with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over some of the decisions he took as Acting President when President Muhammadu Buhari was away.

According to The Punch, an unidentified source at the presidential villa revealed that the members of the cabal were angry with Osinbajo because of the confirmation of Ex-Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen; the removal of Lawal Daura as the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the free role of Obono Obla as the head of the Presidential Panel on Recovery of Public Assets.
