“If you want to last here, you had better be careful” Buhari’s aide Adesina threatens The Punch journalist

Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity

Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, reportedly threatened a journalist.

The reporter was said to be The Punch’s State House Correspondent, John Ameh.

Adesina had confronted the correspondent, saying; “What was that rubbish you people wrote on Saturday? Adesina who was a former President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors said aggressively.

He was referring to a story on the newspaper in which Punch said President Buhari apparently did not approve a press release issued by Mr. Adesina regarding his mood during the judgement of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s petition against his election at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

“Did you say that Mr President did not approve the statement? Let me tell you, if you want to last here, you had better be careful!” the presidential spokesman added.

Adesina had following the victory of President Buhari at the PEPT alleged that Buhari was not even worried or troubled while the ruling was ongoing.

However, President Buhari had reportedly told governors under the ruling All Progressives Congress few days ago, that he was under pressure during the proceedings at the tribunal.

Mr. President’s confession actually did contradict the statement issued by the presidency.
