Musa Wada, a younger brother to Ex-Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State, has emerged the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in the state.
Mr. Wada defeated other aspirants including his elder brother, Ex-Governor Idris Wada who came third with 345 votes. Senator Dino Melaye scored 70 votes.
He got 748 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, the son of former Governor Ibrahim Idris, who scored 710 votes.
The election was presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State who announced Wada as winner of the election held on Tuesday.
He will face Governor Yahaya Bello who is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election in November.
Other aspirants as announced scored; Aminu Abubakar Suleiman, 55; Victor Adoji, 54; Erico Ahmeh, 42; Salihu Atawodi, 11; Mohamed Shaibu, 4l Bayo Averehi, 2; Emmanuel Omebije, 9 and Grace Adejoh, 0.
Governor Fintiri said that 2,388 delegates were accredited for the election while 2,109 votes were cast.
