The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has obtained an order to seize assets belonging to Ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State; his wife, Nneoma; his daughter; and his aide, Mr. Paschal Obi.
Usman Imam, the EFCC boss, Enugu Zonal Office, on Wednesday while speaking to journalists revealed that the anti-graft had established prima facie cases against the suspects.
The EFCC listed some of the properties which include; 16-block 96-flat structure, 8-bungalow multimillion naira estate, hotel, two schools, shopping plaza, supermarket, hospital (which was traced to Okorocha’s aide, Pascal Obi) and some vehicles.
Mr. Imam noted that Rochas and his family needs to show how they were able to acquire the said properties.
The EFCC Enugu boss further expressed hope that the anti-graft gets permanent forfeiture orders on the properties so that the people of Imo could retrieve them back.
Okorocha had repeatedly accused leaders of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), of being behind his predicament with the anti-graft. He alleged that the National Chairman of his party, Adams Oshiomhole, and other leaders in the APC, were instigating anti-graft and security agencies to go after him.
