Osun Tribunal sacks PDP Federal lawmaker, declares election of another state lawmaker inconclusive

Bamidele Salam, the lawmaker representing Ede Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been sacked by the Election Petitions Tribunal in Osogbo, Osun State.

The tribunal cancelled the elections held in 4 local government areas under the constituency due to over voting.

The tribunal also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organise a re-run election in some of the units affected.

The tribunal also declared the election of Adewumi Adeyemi, representing Obokun State Constituency under the PDP, as inconclusive.

According to the tribunal, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, established that over voting occurred in 4 units.

Consequently, the tribunal declared the result of the election inconclusive and ordered INEC to rerun.
