Alhaji Hamisu Wadume, the Taraba millionaire kidnap kingpin, who was apprehended on Monday night by the police in Kano, has vehemently denied that he is involved in kidnapping.

After his re-arrest, the suspect revealed that he had connections in the military and the police.

He revealed that he was friend with Captain Tijani Balarabe, the army officer who ordered his men to open fire on the police officers.

Alhaji Hamisu Wadume also revealed that the captain asked him to run away and claim that he ran away with the handcuffs without the help of soldiers.

Wadume however further revealed that Captain Balarabe brought a welding machine to cut off the handcuff.

Speaking about how he acquired his wealth, Wadume said he is not a kidnapper, according to him the police were wrong for accusing him of kidnapping for ransom. He noted that he acquired his wealth majorly from his fish business.

Wadume however alleged that a small portion of his wealth was gotten from 419.

While speaking at the Nigeria Police Headquarters he revealed that he uses traditional medicine to deceive his victims and get millions from them. The suspected kidnap kingpin who had allegedly received over N100million in ransom insisted that he had never been involved in kidnapping.

Wadume who had been on the run since he was rescued by soldiers of the Nigerian Army 93 Battalion in Takum, Taraba State, was re-arrested by the police at his hideout in Kano State.

Naija Buzz News had reported how the Police HQ accused soldiers of the Nigerian Army of deliberately killing 3 of its highly trained officers who had arrested Wadume in a special operation.

The army admitted that the 3 policemen were killed by its soldiers, but however blamed the police, says that lack of proper communication from the police was the cause for the mistake.

What was however questionable was that after killing the policemen, the suspect (Wadume) who was on handcuff and leg chain escaped.

The police team was attacked by the soldiers while conveying Wadume to the Police Command in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, after his first arrest. Apart from the 3 policemen who were killed in the attack, 2 other civilians were also shot dead by the soldiers.
