1. I will not support any PDP candidate outside Restoration Caucus – Governor Dickson

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has revealed that he would not support any candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who is not among the Restoration Caucus ahead of the party’s governorship primary election.

“We have agreed to elect a candidate for our party from the Restoration Team. I will fail in my responsibilities and values if I abandon those who have supported me, who have been through the thick and thin with me,” the governor said through his Special Adviser on Media Relations, Fidelis Soriwei.

2. Kwara State set to replicate TraderMoni, School Feeding programmes

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has revealed that his government is planning to replicate the Federal Government social investment programmes to fight poverty and youth unemployment in Kwara.

He noted that his administration would domesticate the FG’s TraderMoni and School Feeding Programmes for the benefit of the poor in the state.

3. Ekweremadu says he forgives his attackers

Ex-Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu on Monday while speaking to journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja said that those who attacked him on Saturday in Germany were on drugs.

The senator noted that he had forgiven them.

“I had a feeling that they were under the influence of alcohol and drugs. They did not represent the feelings of our people. I have forgiven them and I have moved on. The government of Germany is free to do whatever they want to do about their case.”

4. South-West top list of debtors with N1.04trillion in debt

According to the Debt Management Office, the South-West has more domestic debt than any other region in the country with about N1.04trillion in debt.

Lagos alone accounts for N542.23billion, Osun N147.7billion, Ekiti N118.01billion, Ogun N97.09billlion, Oyo with N94.14billion and finally Ondo N56.96billion.

5. Diezani asks court to order EFCC to release her $40million jewellery and iPhone

Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, the Ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, has asked the Federal High Court in Lagos to order the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to return back to her 2,149 pieces of jewellery and gold iPhone.

The jewelleries and iPhone valued at $40million was seized temporarily by the EFCC following a court order.

Diezani noted that the EFCC violated her fundamental right to own property and to appropriate them to her discretion, adding that she was not even granted fair hearing on the matter in the first place.

6. Oyo State Governor nominate 27-year-old as commissioner

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has nominated Seun Fakorede, a 27 year old graduate of the civil engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, as a commissioner in his cabinet.

Mr. Fakorede’s nomination was confirmed by Adebo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the House, on Monday.
