Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), says that there is no quarrel between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
According to Oshiomhole, the media created friction between two friends.
Naija Buzz News had reported how Obaseki said that there’s no disagreement between him and his predecessor. He spoke on Sunday at the 80th birthday of Chief John Oyegun, the Ex-National Chairman of the APC.
We also reported how Oyegun said that everyone is dancing around the problem between the two as nobody knows what actually happened between Oshiomhole and his successor, Obaseki.
The APC National Chairman in his Monday statement however told journalists that the alleged rift between them was created by people with personal interests, saying that Governor Obaseki is his brother.
His statement came following Obaseki’s visit to his country home, Iyamoh, the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. The governor had paid a Sallah visit to Oshiomhole and his mother.
Speaking further Oshiomhole said; “It is not an unusual visit; the meeting afforded me the opportunity to meet with my brother and with people I have worked with.”
Governor Obaseki in his own statement said; “there is nothing unusual about this meeting; we decided to come here to celebrate Sallah with my predecessor.”
Oshiomhole had vehemently condemned the inauguration and election of principal officers by only 9 members of the Edo State Assembly.
The Governor however noted that the other 15 lawmakers were planted to impeach him from office. Consequently, he did what needed to be done to ensure he would not be removed from office.
