1. Buhari to set performance target for new ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said that he would set performance targets for his new ministers.

According to him, only experts in Agriculture would head the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

Buhari further said that he would attend the Presidential Policy Retreat organised by the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, adding that the ministers must comply with targets for key sectors of the economy that would directly impact on Nigerians.

2. Jegede alleges that God told him to contest Ondo Governorship Election again

Eyitayo Jegede, the former Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 26, 2016 Ondo State governorship election, says that God told him to contest again in 2020.

Jegede who was defeated by the incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said; “I contested the last election and we knew the result, the following day we went to church to thank God for how far He had helped us. Now, I consulted God Almighty again, I asked if I should go ahead with this project and He told me to go ahead.

3. Nigeria has achieved food security – Buhari says

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) not to give any food importer foreign exchange.

“Don’t give a cent to anybody to import food into the country,” Buhari said at his Daura country home in Katsina State when Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi, paid him a Sallah visit.

Buhari noted that Nigeria has achieved full food security and could cater for itself without importation of food.

4. APC Chairman Oshiomhole says there’s no quarrel between him and Governor Obaseki

Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), alleges that there is no quarrel between him and his successor, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

Oshiomhole alleges that the media created friction between two friends, adding that the alleged rift between them was created by people with personal interests, saying that Governor Obaseki is his brother.

5. Buhari, APC wants Tribunal to cancel over 28,000 exhibits submitted by Atiku

President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), have asked the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) to cancel over 28,000 Presidential Election result sheets submitted as exhibits by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The results were for the February 23, 2019 Presidential Poll held in 10 states namely; (Yobe (1,732 result sheets), Kebbi (2,106), Borno (3,472), Kano (5,806), Bauchi  (3,599), Katsina (3,378), Jigawa (3,162), Kaduna (3,335A), Zamfara (eight) and Niger (1,797)).

According to the APC through its lawyer, some of the exhibits are documentary hearsay documents without facts which shouldn’t have been admitted in the first place by the court. Read more details
