The South-East Chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association and the Northern Leaders, Livestock and Perishable Goods Market Traders, have barred herdsmen whose families do not live in the region from grazing cattle on Igbo land.
The decision was part of the move to stop criminal herdsmen from the region.
Naija Buzz News had few weeks ago reported how the leaders of the South-East region barred the movement of cattle on foot through bushes by Fulani herdsmen.
The latest development was revealed by Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, the Chairman of Miyetti Allah in the South-East, while addressing reporters in Enugu after a meeting.
According to him, the aim of the ban was to check criminal activities in the state.
Also, livestock and perishable goods markets in Enugu State have been shutdown to enable sensitisation of the markets and 14 Fulani settlements in Enugu.
