The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Sunday raided the residence of Ex-Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State.
Operatives of the anti-graft agency reportedly stormed his residence in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State.
Although there is no official statement on the development yet, Premium Times however reports that the EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade, had confirmed the raid in a telephone interview on Monday.
“Yes I can confirm that our operatives went to raid the home of the former governor, the raid is in respect to an ongoing investigation,” he reportedly told PT, adding that; when we are ready for the next stage, we shall carry everybody along.”
Yari is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He was among the APC candidates in the 2019 general elections who were recently sacked by the Supreme Court few months ago.
