How Tinubu reacted to alleged Fulani herdsmen killings

APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has rebuked those who alleges that Fulani herdsmen were responsible for the death of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the second daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

Tinubu who spoke to newsmen after his condolence visit to the Afenifere leader, said; “How many years ago have we faced insecurity in this country and cases of kidnapping? Is Evans who was arrested, and his disclosure, then a herdsman? I don’t want to be political. The question is where are the cows?”

Evans was a notorious billionaire kidnapper of Igbo ethnicity who was arrested in his mansion in Lagos in 2016.

Recently, Fulani herdsmen are always accused of any attack in any parts of the nation. If there’s an invasion in a community, an attack on the highway, a kidnapping issue or banditry, even without any arrest and the identity of the criminals known, Fulani herdsmen were always the first to be accused.

Nigerians in their reaction to the question of if truly it was Fulani herdsmen who are responsible for most of the attacks they are being accused of, where then do they keep their cows? noted that it was not possible for them (Fulani herders) to carry out the alleged coordinated attacks carrying their cows along.

Tinubu noted that the Fulani herdsmen issue was on purpose in a bid to divide the country.

“I am a nationalist and the security concerns and challenges right now must be faced squarely throughout Nigeria. The incident that affected one member of our family, Mrs Olakunri, is saddening and unacceptable but nobody can return her alive, she answered the call of her Creator,” he added.
