Chief Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba Land

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba Land, Chief Gani Adams, has rebuked past and present governors in the South-West over their alleged refusal to help fix the insecurity in Yoruba land.

He noted that all his efforts to bring the leaders together for a security summit over the insecurity problems in the region have been repeatedly ignored.

His statement came in his reaction to the death of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the second daughter of the leader of the apex Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

Naija Buzz News published a report on the death of Mrs. Funke who according to the apex Yoruba group was killed by Fulani herdsmen.

Speaking to The Punch, Chief Adams, revealed that the South-West governors, both immediate or past, have failed in their efforts to address the issue of insecurity. For instance, Aare Gani Adams had on several occasions called for a security summit. But they ignored the call.

The Yoruba war Field Marshal who spoke through his aide, Kehinde Aderemi, further noted that even the recent meeting held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was inconclusive as they failed to address the most important issues.

“However, the recent summit held in Ibadan was inconclusive. They failed to address the salient issues. Aare had always made his position known. He had even proffered solutions to this problem. So as far as Aare is concerned, the governors need to tackle the problem once and for all,” he said.
