DHQ, DSS arrest suspects involved in assassination of Ex-CDS Alex Badeh

Ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh

The Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian military have arrested suspects involved in the killing of Ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.

The suspects who were supposed to be paraded before newsmen at the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja yesterday were arrested by the Joint Investigative Panel setup by Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin, the currently Chief of Defence Staff.

Following Badeh’s murder, the Nigeria Police had paraded five (5) suspects allegedly involved in his assassination. Naija Buzz News David Chima reported it on 1Push.Ng over 5 months ago.

In another report, Badeh’s associate and family member vehemently denied the claim by the suspects, saying that the story given by the arrested suspects was concocted by the police.

The suspects had alleged that they killed Badeh because they wanted to collect some huge cash he had in his possession. His family member however said that Badeh was broke and had no such cash.

The International Strategic Studies Association (ISSA) in a report published over 5 months ago alleged that the death of Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh and that of Maj. Gen. Idris Alkali, a former Chief of Administration of the Nigerian Army, was not just a mere coincidence.

General Alkali was reportedly killed in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, by a gang of protesting youths while on his way to Bauchi State.

Badeh who was assassinated on December 18, 2018, served as Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff under Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan between January 2014 and July 2015.
