Senate President Bukola Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has donated his severance allowance to the family of Leah Sharibu and families of 2 other victims (Hussaini Ahmed Khoisan and Hauwa Liman who were murdered by the sect) of the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.

He donated 20% of his severance package to Leah Sharibu’s family, 20 % each to the other victims who were gruesomely murdered.

Saraki further instructed that the remaining 40% be used by the National Assembly management to setup a trust fund for children of late senators who are in need of financial assistance for their education.

Saraki would benefit as the President of the Senate and as the Chairman of the Federal Parliament.

The 8th Assembly Senate President further expressed hope that the trust fund grows with more donations from his colleagues in the past, present and future.
