Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Lagos Governor whose tenure would be ending on May 29 was at the State House to pay a ‘Thank you visit’ to Mr. President.
Ambode while responding to a question by State House correspondents on what he learnt in office after 4 years said he had grown wiser politically.
“You see, every politician learns every day.
“The fact remains that I came in as a technocrat, so I used to call myself a techno-politician. But I think I am wiser now.
“I am more of a politician than a technocrat.”
Governor Ambode lost his bid to secure a ticket for second term as Lagos Governor to Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Report had it that his political godfather Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, was against his emergence for second term.
With all political forces in the state against Ambode, he eventually lost the controversial and widely reported unfair governorship primary held in the state.
Sanwo-Olu who secured the APC governorship ticket went ahead to win the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Jimi Agbaje, in the governorship election held in March.
