The Nigeria Police has confirmed that over 150 gunmen on motorcycles rode into villages in Katsina State, President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, killing over 15 persons, injuring many others and stealing cattle.
The incident happened on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in Gobirawa and Sha Ka Wuce villages.
Gambo Isa, the spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, confirmed the ugly incident, adding that policemen were dispatched to the communities.
“Police patrol teams were dispatched to the scene,” Katsina Police spokesman, Gambo Isa, said.
Bandits also abducted Musa Umar, the District Head of Daura, President Buhari’s hometown.
