Ndume meets Osinbajo, says he’s still contesting for senate president against his party’s support and without PDP’s support

Senator Ali Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume on Monday met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

His 45minutes meeting with the number two man we suspect might be connected with his ambition to become the next President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Although his discussions with Osinbajo were not revealed, he however noted that he was still in the senate presidency race.

Ndume does not enjoy the support of his party for his ambition, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) had since endorsed Senate Ahmad Lawan for senate president.

The senator after his meeting with Osinbajo told State House correspondents that he had not entered into any alliance with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over his ambition because the PDP considered him as an enemy. “Me that is regarded as an enemy by the opposition?” he said.

When asked whether he had agreed with his party to step down for Senator Lawan, Ndume said;“Me, step down? I am still consulting.”

The Borno State senator was a former chieftain of the PDP before defecting to the ruling APC during the build-up of the 2015 general elections.
